AFTER THE STORM

There is a rainbow in the sky,

    That from the thunder springs,

And looking upward I can see

    God's bright unfolded wings.

There is a rainbow in the west

    And over all it curves,

That wonder of the love to be

    Around the universe.

Blown like a cloud of golden fire

    The rainbow throws its sword

Into the glitter of the sun

    To herald the coming Lord.

One wing upon the golden west

    And one upon the sun;

There all the lands are under it,

And all the lands are one.

The rainbow walks the azure sky

     Out of a cloud unfurled,

And there is God who is to come,

     Tomorrow to the world.
