THE WITCHES 0N MARS

By Josie Whitehead

The witches on Mars are ugly and bent Their evil on earth being utterly spent.   The red planet devours them with relishing joy   And licking its lips seeks more to enjoy. When they lived on our earth, they did such wicked deeds And, when caught, were sent packing with almighty speed.   They loved hurting others, and all kept a black cat.   You’d see them on broomsticks with tall pointed hats. Their lives upon Mars are, for certain, not long. They’re soon polished off as a penance for wrongs.   There are no human beings, no dogs, no black cats -   Just a red hungry planet, so that is just that! The witches on Mars don’t have time to reflect For it’s such a hot place - well I would suspect.   I’ll not take up witchcraft and I’ll try to be good   By writing for you. Well, it’s best that I should. Copyright 2012
